Day 01 :
Pick up and transfer to Kampala

As you arrive at Entebbe International Airport, your dedicated guide and driver will be readily identifiable. They will whisk you away to Lake Victoria Kampala Serena Hotel for rest and overnight.

Day 02 :
Kampala – Kibale National Park

After breakfast, depart Kampala for a scenic and fascinating drive westward, passing papyrus swamps, lush countryside, and rural villages as you journey toward Kibale National Park, located at the foothills of the legendary Rwenzori Mountains.

Upon arrival, enjoy an afternoon guided walk around the picturesque crater lakes region, offering breathtaking views and an enriching cultural encounter with local communities. This walk provides insight into traditional lifestyles while showcasing the area’s stunning volcanic landscapes.

Dinner and overnight at Mountains of the Moon Hotel, beautifully set overlooking a dramatic crater lake and the fabled “Mountains of the Moon.

Day 03 :
Chimpanzee Trekking Kibale Forest National Park – Lake Mburo National Park

Enjoy a half-day chimpanzee tracking experience in Kibale National Park, renowned for its exceptional primate diversity. In addition to chimpanzees, you may encounter up to ten other primate species, including L’Hoest’s monkeys, red colobus, blue monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, and grey-cheeked mangabeys.

Your experienced ranger guide will provide detailed interpretation, not only about the primates but also about the rich forest ecosystem, including its unique flora, birdlife, and other wildlife species, ensuring the walk is both educational and rewarding. This activity offers excellent birdwatching opportunities and the chance to observe primates at close range in their natural habitat.

After lunch, continue your journey to Lake Mburo National park. Lake Mburo National Park is one of the smallest national parks in Uganda but with amazing activities in store for those who visit it. It is the best place to see Zebras while on a safari in Uganda. Apart from the Zebras, expect to encounter hyenas, leopards, mongooses, buffaloes, Waterbucks, Impalas and various other antelopes.

Day 04 :
Lake Mburo National Park – Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

After morning breakfast, you will make a cultural stop at Igongo Cultural Centre, where you will explore the rich heritage and traditional lifestyle of the Ankole and Bahima people, gaining insight into their history, cattle culture, and customs.

Continue with a brief stop at the Uganda Equator for photographs and a memorable moment standing at the point where the Northern and Southern Hemispheres meet.

Right after lunch, you will leave Mbarara city to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Bwindi, one of the most biologically diverse rainforests on Earth, is a lush highland forest characterized by mist-covered valleys, steep hillsides, and vibrant vegetation, home to extraordinary primates and a remarkable variety of bird species. Upon your arrival, you will check-in at your hotel and spend the rest of the evening unwinding.

Day 05 :
Bwindi Gorilla Trekking

Begin the day with an early breakfast before heading to the park headquarters for your 8:00 a.m. briefing by the Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. During the briefing, you will receive important guidelines about gorilla tracking etiquette and safety. Please ensure you carry a rain jacket, sturdy hiking boots, drinking water, snacks, and your packed lunch.

Accompanied by experienced ranger guides, you will then venture into the dense rainforest of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in search of the habituated mountain gorilla family assigned to your group. Tracking can take anywhere from 2 to 6 hours, depending on the gorillas’ movements, but the extraordinary moment of encountering these gentle giants in their natural habitat makes every step worthwhile, truly one of the most thrilling wildlife experiences on Earth.

In the afternoon, enjoy a cultural encounter through the Buhoma Village Walk. Beginning at the Buhoma Community Rest Camp, this guided experience offers meaningful insight into the daily lives of the communities living around Bwindi. It is both informative and inspiring, showcasing local traditions, craftsmanship, and resilience, while directly supporting the surrounding community.

Day 06 :
Bwindi Forest – Kampala / Entebbe

After breakfast, begin your return journey to Kampala and onward to Entebbe, enjoying lunch en route.

Thereafter, proceed to Entebbe for your evening departure flight home, marking the end of your unforgettable Ugandan adventure. An option to fly-in in available from Kisoro to Entebbe under exclusions. (400 USD per person)
