12 Days Gorillas and active volcano (Nyiragongo) Safaris takes you in a transboundary trip starting from Rwanda passing through D.R. Congo and Uganda.

Included in the package is a hike to Nyiragongo which is a beautiful stratovolcano that features the world’s largest lava lake.
While the trek up to the volcano will not be the easiest (it takes 4 to 6 hours), it will completely worth it once at the top. The lava lake is incredible, and tourists spend hours watching the waves of lava and listening to its roars. This will surely be a truly amazing and unforgettable experience, and probably one of the best things you will ever do.
Airport pickup and transfer to your Hotel in Kigali. Early arrivals can take optional tour of Kigali city and the surrounding areas. Overnight and Dinner – City Blue Hotel.
In the morning, you will be picked by the driver from your hotel in Kigali and drive southwards to Cyangugu boarder on the way to Bukavu in DR Congo. You will have a stop over in Butare, where you will visit the national museum of Rwanda, the king’s palace in Nyanza, and the Rwanda genocide memorial site. After lunch, continue on a scenic journey to Bukavu with wonderful views of the hills in Rwanda through the tropical forest of Nyungwe National park and a clear view of Lake Kivu. Dinner and overnight at Panorama/Orchid Sarafis Club(Luxury)
In the morning, you will head for the memorable adventure of tracking the lowland gorillas in Kahuzi Biega National park. Tracking lowland Gorillas is very amazing, lowland Gorillas differ from the mountain gorillas, the lowland gorillas are bigger in size, usually takes 1-4 hours tracking the lowland Gorillas. The lowland Gorillas stay in bigger families as compared to mountain gorillas; you will not regret the safari effort once you meet the amazing Gorillas! Later in the afternoon drive back to your hotel.
In the morning you will take a boat from Bukavu to Goma which takes 6-7hours. Upon arrival in Goma transfer to your hotel for rest and overnight at the Hotel. In the afternoon Goma city tour and return back to the hotel.
At 11.30am pick up from the Hotel and transfer to Virunga National Park. In the afternoon nature walk and birds watching in Kibumba Village. Dinner and overnight Kibumba Tented Camp
After an early breakfast at Kibumba Tented Camp, trekkers will head down the hill to meet their Ranger guides and have a briefing before the gorilla trek. Treks usually require 1-2.5hours of hiking each way, depending on location of the gorilla group being trekked and the difficulty of the terrain. After spending the allotted hour with gorilla family group, trekkers will make their back to camp, enjoy a late lunch and have the rest of the day at leisure.
After breakfast in Kibumba, proceed to Kibati Ranger post at 8:15am, departure point for the Nyiragongo volcano trek. The climb up the volcano will take around four to six hours and trekkers will overnight on the summit.
After an early breakfast at the summit, downhill mountains where you will reach down at around 12am depending on the group speed. Upon arrival at the bottom proceed drive to the Rwanda border and proceed to Musanze for rest and overnight.
After an early breakfast proceed to Volcano National park for Golden monkey and later in the afternoon proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable forest. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge.
After breakfast, tracking the gorillas through the unique vegetation, this can take several hours of challenging walking in wet and muddy conditions. To see gorilla at the end of it, certainly makes the trekking worthwhile. Meals and overnight at your camp/lodge.
After breakfast, drive to Lake Mburo national Park via the second largest city in Uganda “Mbarara City” having scenic views of the Kabale hills. Mburo the smallest park in Uganda, however one of the interesting parks with zebras, buffalos, giraffes, hippos, impalas, topi etc. and a great park for bird watchers. Melas and overnight at your lodge.
