Upon your arrival in Kigali, you'll be greeted by your driver-guide. Your Rwandan experience will begin with a city tour, encompassing visits to the museum, the conference center, and the vibrant Kimironko market, where you can purchase local goods and connect with the Rwandan people. After lunch in Kigali, you'll journey north to Akagera National Park, approximately a two-hour drive. You'll arrive with ample time to check into your chosen lodge, allowing you to unwind and anticipate your upcoming exploration of the park.

Following a morning meal, you'll embark on an exciting game drive within Akagera National Park. Your driver-guide will lead you along the park's various routes, offering opportunities to spot its diverse wildlife, including rhinos, elephants, lions, and giraffes. This immersive half-day experience will last approximately five hours before you return to your lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon after lunch, you'll enjoy a boat excursion on Lake Ihema, providing excellent opportunities for birdwatching and viewing the aquatic inhabitants of Akagera, such as hippos and crocodiles, in their natural habitat. This two-hour boat trip operates at specific times. Afterwards, you'll head back to your accommodation for a delicious dinner, where you can reflect on the day's memorable wildlife encounters.

Akagera National Park provides an optional cultural tour for visitors, which you can partake in after breakfast at the lodge before your departure to Kigali, should you wish. Following this, you will leave the park, and if luck is on your side, you might encounter more of Akagera's wildlife, offering another chance to see any animals you may have missed on previous days. Upon arrival in Kigali, you will be taken to your designated drop-off location. If time permits, you could also make a stop at the Gisozi Genocide Memorial Grounds and the Kimironko market to potentially find good deals on local items before transferring you to the airport for departure flight out.
