Day 1
Kigali – Bujumbura (40Min)

In the morning, you will be picked from your hotel and transferred to Kigali International Airport. The flight from Kigali to Bujumbura will take 40 minutes. Upon your arrival in Bujumbura proceed to your hotel for overnight.

Day 2
Bujumbura and Gitega Experience

On this day you will visit both the cities of Bujumbura and Gitega respectively economic and political capitals of the Republic of Burundi. Stop at various colonial architecture dating from the Germans as well as the Belgians colonizers’ era. The buildings enhance you to revisit the colonial history in the Burundian context. You will also mingle with the fishing community at the shore of Lake Tanganyika. Interact with the fishermen to learn more about their daily jobs. You will also go for shopping from cultural markets in Bujumbura before returning back to your hotel in Bujumbura. Overnight at Dolce Vita Hotel (Midrange) or similar

Day 3
Visit of minority groups community and cattle owners

In the morning, you will visit the pygmy community at Muvumu hill. This will be an opportunity for you to dive in their cultural attachment and interest in its preservation. You will watch their performances, theatre on their living experience and introduced to their daily pottery activities. They have stories to tell, unique to their ethnic group.

After lunch, in the afternoon, you will be brought to cattle herders in Mugamba region. Cattle herders have strong ties with cow population: it is a source of livelihood, a social status, a economic growth factor and a cultural pride. You will assist to a number of performances around cow when taking them to graze, to drink water and when they are brought back home. Day 4
Karera Waterfalls, museums and drums sanctuary

After morning breakfast, start your day with a visit of the majestic Karera waterfalls. The Karera falls are made of 5 splendid falls with different names in the midst of a green vegetation with different animal species. Then proceed to Gitega, visit the national museum, make a tour of Gitega, the former royal city and actual political capital of Burundi known for its sacred drums. Enjoy the Gishora drum sanctuary (Ruciteme and Murimirwa).

Day 5
Departure to Kigali

In the morning, you will be brought to Bujumbura. Upon arrival in Bujumbura proceed to the airport for departure.
