Gorilla trekking in Uganda, Rwanda, Congo Brazzaville and DR Congo is an exciting and memorable experience that lets travelers come face to face with some of the most fascinating creatures on earth and close relative to humans. We are among the few tour operators offering treks to experience both Eastern (Mountain and Lowland gorillas: Rwanda, Uganda, DR Congo) & Western Gorillas (Congo Brazzaville, Gabon & Cameroon). During gorilla trekking in Uganda, Rwanda, Republic of Congo or Dr. Congo, you will spend hours in the dense tropical rainforests and mountains home to the remaining gorillas in the wild.
Experienced rangers and porters from Uganda wildlife authority (UWA), RDB of Rwanda, Ministry of Forest Economy and Environment (RoC) and IUNC of DRC will accompany you throughout the trek; using machetes, they will be cutting through the thick jungle, pointing out signs of gorillas and help locate the gorillas.
Trekking through the forests of Bwindi National Park, Kahuzi Biega National Park, Virunga National Park, Nouabalé Ndoki National Park or Volcanoes National Park may sometimes be strenuous. Still, the reward of meeting the given gorilla specie is priceless, especially watching them play, interact, eat, and groom each other.
Gorilla trekking tours are not only limited to gorilla encounters but also provide opportunities for birding in Uganda, Birding in Rwanda and interacting with the local pygmies, Batwa and other local populations, learning about their customs and traditions.

Chimpanzee Trekking Safaris in Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda & DRC
Chimpanzee trekking safaris are conducted in dense tropical forests, their natural habitat. These safaris are conducted with the help of trained guides who will take you through the forest trails and find different chimpanzee families along the way.
Chimpanzees live in communities called bands (15 to 80 members) and subgroups. They groom one another, use gestures, vocalizations, and facial expressions to communicate, and consume fruits, leaves, insects, and sometimes small animals.
Top destinations for chimpanzee trekking include Kibale National Park, Kalinzu Forest, Budongo Forest, Kyambura Gorge, Nyungwe National Park (Rwanda), Gombe and Mahale (Tanzania), and Virunga (DRC). Chimpanzee habituation experiences are available in some parks.
Best time to go for chimp trekking varies by park but dry months are typically recommended, talk to one of our experts for more specific details.
